    From STL File to Perfect Stone Setting in 5 Minutes: How Our 3D Scanning Machine Won Over Shenzhen's Jewelry Experts

 

This morning, we received a follow-up call from Mr. Wang in Shenzhen. He shared positive feedback after QA inspection and post-processing tests—they were very satisfied with the results. He had also recorded a video of the  wax mold diamond setting machine in operation and shared it internally with their technicians and procurement team. After reviewing the video, both their technical staff and purchasing department expressed interest in seeing the 3D Scanning Jewelry Diamond Setting Robot in person.

I invited them to bring their pendant design files along, as they can be directly imported into our 3D Scanning Jewelry Wax Stone Setting Machine’s software—no manual programming required.

That very afternoon, Mr. Wang returned with his team, including both the procurement and technical leads. They also brought an STL file of their pendant design. Our technician imported their design into CAD Jewel software, then separated and saved both the stone drawing and the design outline.

Next, Jewelry Wax Stone Setting Machine s micron-level 3D scanner scanned the physical wax mold and generated a high-precision laser point cloud. We launched our proprietary Stone Software, activated the AI stone matching module, and imported both the scanned wax model and the extracted design drawings.

Using the mouse, the technician clicked on one reference pillar in the upper left corner of the design drawing, then selected the corresponding pillar in the wax model image. This process was repeated for three more reference points: upper right, lower left, and lower right. This allowed the software to accurately fuse the design with the scanned mold, automatically calculating the shrinkage ratio and distributing all stone positions evenly across the setting holes.

The entire alignment and fusion process took less than 4 minutes. The technician then initiated production. The machine began rapidly picking and placing stones. From alignment to completed setting, the full process took under 5 minutes.

Each member of the visiting team viewed the results under a microscope—and everyone was impressed. We then demonstrated another programming method: using the mouse to click directly on wax pillars to generate stone positions. The team timed the process: four wax molds, totaling 78 stone seats, programmed in just 10 minutes. The stones set using this method were also flawless—flat, straight, and no tilted stones. We completed 10 wax molds in a row, all with excellent results. When tapped on a table, no stones fell off.

The client took two sets of wax molds—each created using a different programming method—back for further inspection and the next stage of production. They told us, “Wait for our feedback.” Normally when clients say that, it means there’s no feedback coming. But this time, I’m confident—they believe in our technology, and customers who trust our 3D jewelry Wax Stone Setting Machine don’t walk away easily.

This is our approach when engaging clients: we always start with sample verification. We encourage clients to see the results for themselves.
